Presentation

Following Dominique Corbiau's original idea, combining instrumental music, lyrical art, storytelling and shadow theatre, Le Rossignol was a total, extraordinary show. Like a masterpiece of the finest silk tapestry, this multi-disciplinary version of The Nightingale (a tale penned by Hans Christian Andersen) took the audience to the delights of orientalism, cradled by the music of Jean Jadin and the bewitching voices of countertenor Dominique Corbiau and actress Jacqueline Bir. All this was illustrated by a magnificent work of shadow puppets, the result of the talent of the Compagnie de l'Ombre.

Acclaimed by the critics at the time of its creation, Le Rossignol was a magical and poetic fairy tale far removed from the hubbub of the modern world...

Following the success of the play, the Compagnie Lézards Cyniques produced a superb CD-book inspired by the show created in November 2006. Forty-eight pages and more than an hour of poetry, music and storytelling. A superb gift to offer or to be offered during the festive season.
